Friction adjustment can be applied in 7 steps, with the 0 setting providing nearly-frictionless movement. A 13-step adjustable counterbalance can compensate for cameras weighing up to 39 pounds. The BCH-20 is controlled with dual rosette-mounted pan handles. Both pan handles easily extend for greater leverage when using heavier cameras. Extra camera-mount screws are kept in 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tapped holes on the sides of the head. When vacated, these holes can also be used as accessory mounting points. The calibrated camera platform secures the camera plate with dual locks, preventing the camera from accidentally falling off the head during adjustment. To save time when balancing your camera, the platform is etched with calibrated measurements. Aluminum alloy is used in the construction for durability while maintaining a manageable weight.

The aluminum ALTA PH-32 3-Way Pan Head from Vanguard is a 1.5 lb Arca-type compatible support that has a load capacity of 11 lb. Vanguard Alta BH-100 Ball Head
The Vanguard Alta BH-100 is an Arca-type ball head that has a load capacity of 22.0 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount.

Cameras or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the included QS-60 V2 Quick Release Plate. The quick release plate can be attached or removed from the integrated clamp located at the top of the head's ball-and-socket joint by tightening or loosening the clamp's knurled, locking knob. Within the recessed surface between the clamp's jaws is a retaining pin. This pin prevents an installed QS-60 V2 Quick Release Plate from accidentally sliding off when the clamp is opened. The quick release plate features a rubberized, non-slip platform while two built-in bubble levels along the edges of the clamp accommodate landscape or portrait orientations.

By loosening the ball head's primary locking knob, the head's ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Variable tension can be applied to the ball-and-socket joint's movements by rotating the friction knob located above the primary locking knob. Toward the side of the ball head opposite the primary locking knob is a secondary locking knob, which controls the ability to rotate the head 360°.

Vanguard Alta BH-300 Ball Head
The Alta BH-300 Ball Head from Vanguard is a 1.3 lb Arca-type head that can support cameras that weigh up to 66.1 lb. Located inside the clamp is a safety pin that prevents the plate from sliding out if the clamp is partially opened. Moreover, the 4.6" tall head has three separate knobs to control it; the main locking knob governs the movement of the ball, the friction control knob adds or decreases drag on the ball per your comfort level, and the third knob enables the ball head to pan a full 360°.

A single-cut notch on the side allows a mounted camera to move in a 90° vertical angle. Mounting the ball head to a tripod is easily done via the 3/8"-16 thread, but a 1/4"-20 bushing adapter is included for those tripods with a smaller thread. The Sirui ST-224 Waterproof Carbon Fibre Tripod with ST-20 Ball Head is protected from water, dirt and dust. In addition, it has a newly designed locking mechanism for comfortable operation and a spirit level for accurate alignment. The tripod tubes are manufactured from 8-layer carbon fibre (reduced weight, increased stability, vibration-free). The centre column is made in a triangle shape to enhance rigidity and also allows for the profile of the tripod to be extremely low profile when folded.
